Yellow Belt

Love this feeling of crafty pals leaving such friendly comments on my blog. I do so enjoy reading them.
I have been double good this week, my only purchase has been my canvas paper and this is boy card number two.  I will have to stretch my memory back to growing up with three brothers to get my imagination going. I will admit that this image took a minimum of colouring in but hopefully that yellow belt covers the important element.

True Friends

Well I need a talking to, I have about two boy cards left in my box so if my crafty pals should see me straying towards girl cards and pink or purple in the next week please feel free to nudge me back on track.
I decided to follow a sketch to kick off this boy card and apart from forgetting to mount my dotty paper onto the blue card to leave a small outline I was happy enough. I have used this image before and it always brings a smile.

I Can Fly Too

After getting my whole post written yesterday and then for some reason it disappeared (I suspect I pressed the wrong button lol) hopefully it will be plain sailing today. Fun load of bits on my card today and it is an easy card as it is pink so I'll be popping it into the pink challenge.

A little bit further

It has been a wee while and no real excuse, well I did misplace a small die and had to tidy my desk looking for it (should have had a whole work team for that job) , anyway I couldn't believe when I found it placed on the middle of the magnetic sheet holding my grand labels.
Patricia kindly told me where she buys her canvas paper so I nipped to that shop which is opposite the supermarket and picked some up. It would have been really rude not to use it so here is my recipe this time round :- I
painted a background on some plain paper
painted a  variety of die cut leaves and placed them loosely over the background
took a photograph
printed the photograph onto the canvas paper

then I started my card. Getting slightly better at photographing acetate, I hope I remember how I did it next time. I even managed to cut the slit in the acetate to slip the wee mouse through without any pain.

Spellbinders circle to cut the acetate,

Posh Hat

It's Wednesday and all is fair to middling , the weather has succeeded in it's dastardly way and we have a drip from the roof, still it is due replacement next year so it will have to wait until then. Hopefully it won't eat into my crafting budget, but if I really owned up, if my crafting stash was laid out singly I may be able to cover the country. Therefore it is very important that I should use some up and try not to buy too much more. Why oh why are there so many tempting things and so little will power.
I would like to say I am very happy to have new followers and also lovely comments.
The backing paper I used for my card was a free gift with a purchase I made so I don't know where it came from, the jute ribbon was a purchase made when I was too sleepy, and clicked the wrong item into my basket, I was supposed to be buying some seam binding, but I think it was a happy accident as I do like it..

Colour Play

When mojo goes completely walkabout well a girl just has to have a play. I wandered about the internet looking for inspiration and saw a challenge which I reckon fits the bill exactly. Yes - pink, lilac, blue, green and tangerine. I am not actually a tangerine sort of person but playing with stash is what I did and here is the result.

X-stitch Mice

A fun challenge on the Joanna Sheen forum as it passes mid month again. This time we need to use a bit of stitching and although I can no longer do any real sewing I found a bit of embroidery thread and had fun. The piercing die made it easy and I will be on the look out for more of the same. I accept I need to put a bit of practice in taking photos of mirror card and it is on my list of things to do, but hopefully it looks ok. I am beginning to wonder about the number of favourite stamps I have, here is another one.

One Lazy Cat

I think I could slumber away today myself, it is bucketing down outside. I do need an occasional belated birthday card and I think this could meet the requirement. It is yet again a very favourite and well used stamp and gives me the giggles. The mirror card is actually pink and a good match to the rest of the card but my camera is determined to fib about it. I typed the sentiment.

Walkies

My goodness the thunder rolled on and on this morning. Decided against putting my computer on just in case although I think the lightening was being doused by the heavy rain. My kindle has gone to sleep so I'm charging it up and hoping it will reboot, it is still under guarantee. So it is a good job us crafters don't need technology, especially as I had the forethought (or luck) in printing the paper yesterday. So fun was still had this morning and although I didn't come up with a super photo I am happy with the card. I double stamped this image and layered it and although a bit finicky for me to do I like the result.

Yellow mono fairy

I am so very happy to be receiving comments on my blog. I think I have managed to switch the word verification thingy off so please let me know if I haven't. This is all still very new to me. I am still in fairyland today but as I used a sakura stardust pen there isn't too much glitter about. I don't know why this little fairy slipped to the bottom of the box as she is such a sweetie and I enjoyed colouring her. I have made an attempt at keeping to a single colour choice so hopefully it has worked.

Pink fairy

Where did all this pink paper and card come from? In fact I have to own up, it is never far away and just what you need on an overcast Somerset day. Also never far away is my collection of great fairy stamps. My Celtic roots allow me to enjoy every minute of playing with fey items and with Gaelic songs playing in the background this card was all about having fun. The sentiment says it all again.

Feathers

Been very brave today and got the feather box out, I'm not great with feathers as it reminds me of plucking chickens as a kid which was the most hated chore on the croft. Ok I know our chickens weren't purple but even those give me a bit of a shudder. However I felt that feathers was the stuff to use on this card and so I just had to focus on the 'champagne' colour. It has been a funny week for my cardmaking as Monday and Tuesday I was doing some  hand cut decoupage from the "Big One" cd, and as my hands aren't brilliant it was very hard work. All 3 cards are for family so they won't appear on here.
So as a treat today I am playing with my PBs and they always bring a smile.I added a sentiment from Whimsy which I thought very useful with my selection of chicken stamps.

Wish fairy

Sat here very quietly today, my computer threw a wee tizz this morning and didn't start up correctly and then when it did it didn't want to connect to 'hyberspace'. Still all ok now and I'll get on with this little card. The sentiment stamp is very fine and I had a bit of trouble putting down enough ink with it to do the embossing well, I must remember to use a darker ink next time. I used a memory box buckle die behind the greeting which gave it the bit of colour I wanted. I do like to get more than one use from my dies.

Fairies on the Bottle

It has just brightened up here so I will do this quickly and then I'm out. This started of as an attempt at 'Iris folding' but that is never going to be listed under my accomplishments. I do try the Double MM fun challenge on the JS forum but for this month I have to admit I'm really more of a kaleidescope person. The stamps I used today are all very well used. I think the two outline ones were one of the first craft item I bought online and imagine my surprise when they arrived and I realised how wee they were - however they have proved very worthwhile. I should really have called this post "not iris folding" as I am never mean to fairies.
Everything used is from stash,

Same image 2 cards

Not going to mention that weather today but I received my new wellies in the post. I played with one of my favourite stamps twice. I also learned a valuable lesson, diecut your topper before putting the bling on, even with a soft piece of card to protect the bling the bigshot took revenge.  A few days ago a friend put a card on her blog with some lovely nitwit paper and I thought "I like that lots", fortunately I checked what I had already downloaded and there it was, already done. (One up against FM, I have to work very hard at being that logical). Part of these cards is my attempt to use some stash so hopefully they don't look to bitty as a result.

Simple Tractor

A bit of an overcast day here but an early start for me. I kept this card totally simple in the end having had 2 goes at colouring in the image. Got so close to it the first time and then messed up completely, never mind. Don't know where this year is going to but it is hurtling along at a fair pace. The card - This little fella is such a cutie and reminds me so much of my friends little boy. I have messed up my corner rounder cutting thick acetate so the corners aren't quite what they should be, must get hubby to look at it. Please spy my new die which is chat bubble. I'm really taken with these so you will see more of them. I suppose to be honest I'm just addicted to dies.
