chocolate wallets

A quick Thank You for the best wishes being sent to my friend's son, and also the lovely comments on  my card. I have asked Santa for a better memory having realised that the local cards were still in the box, I was so sure that I had sorted their delivery, it was a great morning today for a walk though so better late than never. Also a thank you to my crafty pals for coming up with the chocolate wallets, this task is now well in hand and I am putting one of them on here to remind me next year.  Also enjoying using up some of my stash, lol.

His broken leg

Hello my great crafty pals and Thank You for your good wishes to my hubby. I know I have ignored you all for days but I seem to have entered a time warp, an ever decreasing one, each time I go outside I end up wet and I seem to have had loads of unusual tasks to do. Today's card is one we all hope not to make, my friend's lad has broken his leg very badly playing football (he is totally football mad hence the theme on my card). Anyway due to a mix up it took 2 hours for the ambulance to arrive and by the time he got to hospital he had to wait 3 days for the swelling to go down enough for them to operate. He is now home and as he is in his early twenties he should make a good recovery so the card should bring a wee smile to him. You know I love reading your comments but I am also aware that everyone is running short of time and there will be plenty of time to chat after Christmas. Do all take good care in this awful weather. xx Flora

Hubby's Birthday

A quick hello to you all and hopefully you all have Christmas fully prepared. I am so glad you all enjoyed my wee Christmas message to you. It is hubby's birthday tomorrow so after that we will be able to do any decorating, tree etc as he doesn't like it done before his birthday which I can understand. I made his card but on reflection I should have made the meerkat a bit taller, never mind it doesn't have to be to scale, does it? On Thursday I have to go to the boob squashing clinic and I am so looking forward to going to Bristol centre which is bound to be bedlam - NO. I had to laugh as the appointment time is 12.12 which is a bit precise. I will be able to get there by bus and will have a quick look round the market if it is not too busy. Hubby enjoys baking and cooking as well as meerkats and always likes to use a dash of wine or cider in his dishes.

A Christmas message

It is getting close so this is a wee message for all my crafty pals now this event is getting closer.  I am so pleased that I started my blog and was just sat here reflecting on how much fun I have had wandering about in blogland looking at what you share and also reading your lovely comments and chat.  Hopefully this photo will show some of the sparkle I am sending to all.

Bunny Flowers

My goodness my great crafty pals, I suspect I should be off to kip really but I thought I would pop in to say I was so pleased you liked the little hedgie card, and also your encouragement in my attempted project. Also a big welcome to another Hazel . I have simplified it a bit and think I will give it a rest now for a few days to see what other improvements I can make. I will post the current version although the photo is not very good. I also made a simple card - I think I must have missed Christmas as this one is a bunny and yet again an old favourite stamp. We seem to have spent most of today defrosting cars, van, motorhome etc as the driveway has to be empty for the morning and we have had freezing fog all day. Our neighbour is having a concrete delivery and it can only be pumped from our driveway so it is all fun and games as part of our fence has to come down temporarily. I just hope for their sake the temperature picks up for a couple of days to allow it to set. Anyway I am waffling, please go carefully all.

I think I was asleep

Hello my crafty pals, well I hope you are all well and thank you very much for all the lovely comments on my little bit of fun. I am also pleased to welcome more crafty pals. I cannot believe how bad my mojo has been over the last week it didn't even allow me to go blogging, I think I hibernated like this little fellow on my card. I also have had a little play with my robo and this phone box is in it's very early stages but I thought I would seek opinions as to whether it would make a good gift box when the design is vastly improved. You have all been creating such fab projects and cards and hopefully I will get some commenting done as I am not home tomorrow. I could actually do with a full-sized-tardis for my stash, I seem to have made a real mess just trying to gee up my mojo..

Shrink Twinchie

Good Afternoon to all my crafty pals. Thank you all for your lovely comments, you had me singing along to my backing paper. Well I'm lying low today as OH and daughter are moving furniture and I wouldn't want to be in the way so I puzzled over what to play with. and my crafty pal Jenny  had the answer - http://cardsarus.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/its-twinchie-time-again.html , well I cut a piece of card 2 inches square and I picked myself off the floor from the shock of how small it was (you have all got to try this) and thought waw Jenny.
Ok so I put a bit of a twist on it and out came the shrink plastic (I know but a little bit of cheating never hurt - lol) , I just love shrink plastic and when you add dies into the mix well what can I say. Hope it brings you all a smile.

simple tree

I am so chuffed at the comments I received from my crafty pals about little "Flora", I was smiling for ages. Today I was at the dental hospital, I cannot believe that it is a whole month since my last visit. The anesthetic brought my blood pressure clattering down so it has taken me ages to get warm, but that is me done now for 6 months. My card today is ever such a simple one with two memory box tree die cuts, but will be added to my pile of local cards still to be written and hand delivered. Hope you are all having a warm crafty bit of time.

My namesake

Hello my crafty pals and I am pleased I managed to get a bit of wandering around blogland , so many beautiful creations, I do wish I had time to comment on all but rest assured I am very pleased that you all show them . Hope you are all well. I couldn't ignore the arrival of my namesake - lol so here she is and I did have a lot of fun making this card. I had bought the Spellbinder's Diamond Strips and Accents as I thought it would be useful for my art deco cards, mislaid the pack so as I was very pleased to have found it I did have a play. Yes you may wonder how I can mislay a whole pack of dies. As always it makes me very happy when I have comments to read. Just realised I haven't put the sentiment on.

My Christmas cards

Not a great welcome for my new follower as I am being a bit bah-humbug and moaning about our freezing temps, I have missed visiting you all but between helping prepare kilograms of onions and shopping, on the understanding that we are going to be under siege, has taken the wind out of my sails. Cards not all done yet but I feel a wee halo rising above ankle level. Sending all my crafty pals a hug and hoping you are all staying warm and I will visit you all again soon. Please feel free to giggle as  I am now showing you how I like to see my Christmas cards.

Fiddly and camera shy

Hello my crafty pals and thank you for your comments which made me very happy. Hope you are all well and using up loads of stash. I’m afraid this next card is a bit of fiddling here and there, definitely was not what I set out to do but I was reluctant to throw it away but perhaps it is why some of this has been sitting in stash for some time.  I've decided that some of my rose leaves have mildew – lol (must be all the rain we've had this year). I think the main problem was that the card I used was single sided pearlescent coated and stretched a bit odd in the embossing folder. Still it kept me out of mischief and tucked up indoors. It did not want to be photographed as the jelly! frames are so shiny but I put it on here anyway and please feel free to make any suggestions and you all know I love your comments. Hope you are all staying safe in this weather. xx Flora

Snow

Hello my crafty pals and thank you for your comments which I have so enjoyed reading. Hope you are all well. Welcome to my newest crafty pal, very glad to have you join in. I will try and squeak a quick card in between power cuts today as they are testing the service in our area, maybe they should have done it weeks ago before the cables came down in our snowfall – Oh! well. Regardless of the inconvenience and the fact we seem to be totally unable to cope with it, I do like a bit of snow, but only when I think everyone is safely tucked away. I actually think we have moved to a different continent without being informed as the amount of rain over the last few days has been horrendous and I do feel for anyone who has been flooded.
Onto my card then and I can only describe it as snow – lol. Is this perhaps taking Clean And Simple a bit far? See my new toy, it is scrummy, Dee’s Distinctively snow stacker tree die and gosh the only hard work was choosing as there were so many gorgeous ones.  The glitter box is also out – hee hee and my keyboard smells of coffee (oops) luckily I drink black coffee. Have some crafty fun. xx Flora.

Pink Art deco

Good Morning my crafty pals. Hope you are all well and I will be very glad of a visit and your company today as always. While the weather was reasonable it was easier to keep away from my crafting but yesterday was miserable and today is atrocious, no doubt the ducks will be carrying out an inspection of the water level quite soon.
I had a wee shuffle through my die cutters, I must get a better storage system than my biscuit and shoe boxes - hee hee. My had fell automatically to one of my favourite dies so I had a play with a ready printed topper albeit I did glitz it a bit, and enough of a mix of straight and jaunty angles. I was reasonably happy with it and hopefully the photo isn't too bad.
I have had some better sleep over the last 5 nights and my eyes are less irritated so should be back to a bit of colouring in soon. I shall hopefully get around your blogs as the day goes and comment also, but please excuse the spelling. Hope you are all enjoying your crafting and messing about.

Seesaw

Hello my crafty pals and welcome to my new pal. Hope you are all well. I think I sussed out this schedule thingy, you set the date and time and then click publish – we shall see later. I am at the eye hospital having tests so not looking forward to it but my sight is so important to me, taking care of it is a top priority. Afterwards as I am in Bristol I intend going shopping so hopefully my blurry vision doesn’t misread the prices but I should be ok in the pound shop and primark. I may even get as far as St Nicolas market to browse the lace and buttons.
I have played with an oldy favourite here but this is the first time I have used promarkers for it. It took a very gentle touch to do this so much practice needed – lol. I love reading your comments and I will try to get around blogland when I come home unless they advise rest. If I disappear for a few days you will know why so please have some crafty fun.

PS: Good Afternoon, glad to see that I managed the schedule thingy, Thank you all for your comments and good wishes, my visit went very well once I got there , we had to be diverted due to an accident that closed the main road so I was late. I do have ointment and drops for my eyes so no crafting or driving for a few days.  I shall then catch up on everything that is happening. Sending you all crafty hugs. xx Flora

Peel-off Christmas

Hello my crafty pals. Hope you are all well and using up that Christmas stash. It is the turn of the peel-offs today and I do feel they are a bit maligned these days, lol. I did wonder whether to give this a little colour detail, such as lights from the windows but I felt a little bit lazy so I left it. I added some of my new little buttons for detail, I do like those. As always I am pleased to hear from you so do comment when you visit. xx Flora

Poppies 2

Another quick post today to say hello to my crafty pals and thank you all for your lovely comments. Yesterday I had to take my eldest to an emergency dentist appointment as she was still without a car, so I was "forced" to dawdle some time away in the Range. I haven't been there for ages and I had to be so good as they had loads of art-deco stuff there, thought I would share the info. I did buy two storage boxes, got 3 packs of great little buttons, an embossing folder and some unusual Kraft card.
Anyway onto my quick card, I used the poppy stamp from the Joanna Sheen Garden Fairy collection added a bit of colour and that was it, I cut the panels with the Spellbinders deckled rectangle die.

Bear on Bike

Good Morning to all my crafty pals, hope you are all well and recovering from your busy weekends. This is going to be a quick post and hopefully a bit of a wander around blogland, sorry I haven't been up to commenting lately but I have loved your cards, projects and photos..
My card is a quickish bit of stash layering and colouring, a bit of play with a couple of die cuts from my oldest dies for a wee boy card. The two dies did not come together but I think they work ok. Sending you all crafty hugs. xx Flora

Poppies and things

Hello my crafty pals. I am struggling a bit at the moment as I am so tired, I shall pop over to your blog Sharon and see your award and sort it out when I get my head around it. I will also hop about and catch up on looking at everyone’s creations. I have had a wee play with the D-Lites dies I bought, they are a bit tricky to use but I expect that was just me really. My allotment has had little use this year, last year we had tons of fruit and this year has been awful, never mind. This card looks a bit like it with overhanging bushes, bulrushes and poppies. I say I should give it up but hubby wants to continue with it, we shall see.
I am taking my oldest daughter to work in the morning as her car has a problem and then I will rest so I thought I would have a play with schedule to see if it works for me, this post could disappear into cyber-space. (hee hee)

Lace and Pink

Good Afternoon to all, hope you are all keeping well and cosy. Lovely to see you have been popping by and letting me know. I am surrounded by bits and pieces but not quite the right bits to go together if you know what I mean or maybe I'm too tired to see it. I treated myself to the Garden Lattice M-bossibilities which is totally gorgeous and a selection of four D-lites, which are also great but you do require patience to use them. I have also been pottering in my garden and would not recommend a giant bamboo so if you see strange roots appearing in a spot nearby it wasn't my idea.
Anyway I have had a wee play and have been so tempted to add a bow or something else.
Paper and card - card blank is an A5,

Copper and Verdigris

Hello my crafty pals. Well I survived my outing yesterday, had another of my metal fillings removed and replaced with a white composite, the next one will be next month. There is no actual evidence that replacing the fillings helps in the battle against FM symptoms, but I am willing it so. I have to go to hospital as I react to the anaesthetic so it is a good opportunity for the students to learn how to apply it safely and I don’t mind being a guinea pig. The great benefit is that I am being treated in a large room with so much going on and continuous interaction with the students that I can almost forget I am at a dentist.
Not too sure about my butterfly today as it was a large area for the gilding flakes and I used different glue, I will go back to my Zig pen next time, still I learn as I go. I faffed about with it so long that the verdigris could be real, lol.  I am in this sort of colour mood at the moment and I notice I have quite a number of papers in these shades, lol. Hope you are all having fun as you go.

Paper and card - card blank is a 19 x 12cm made by overprinting some card from stash, backing oval also from stash,
Dies used – Memory Box Delia and Finn butterflies
decorated with gilding & sakura pen and Sizzix daisies.

Useful Tip

I have no card today as I have a dental hospital appointment and by now you will have gleaned that I do not do well at dentists, it is an FM thing, but hey ho I got to go. I still wanted to say Thank you to all my crafty pals for their lovely comments and kind words yesterday. Also hello to Hazel who persevered and hopefully we will be seeing her jewellery creations on a blog soon. I am prone to dropping things especially bling so I thought I would pass on my useful way of not making such a mess when I do so. I put cheap hair ties, from the pound shop, around the boxes. I hope this tip will be helpful to someone, and have a great crafty day all.

Rounded Bottom

Hello my crafty pals. Thank you for visiting and for the lovely comments you left. I love reading them and knowing I have company as I meander along in this fun world. Welcome to my new pals. I have now found where your comment boxes wander off to, lol.
I know I’m not supposed to be here, I should be on my way to shopping at the Taunton show but we have had so much snow this morning. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
I made this but what is it and what am I going to do with it – lol. This is what comes of playing, I wanted to play with curving the card around at the bottom and I also wanted to play with my spellbinder circle die that I bought weeks ago. I also put an embossing folder through my grand calibur for the first time. So feel free to have a giggle at my thing with the rounded bottom. Take care all especially if travelling.

This shows my lining paper in the wrong place so I half lined the box and my thing has a nice back.

PS: I am having a bit of a background crisis at the moment – lol. My translate dropdown has disappeared although it looks fine in design mode so I think Windows 8 has pinched it.

Bag attempt 1

Good  Morning my crafty pals. Thank you for visiting and for the lovely comments you left. Always great to know I’m not alone in doing something even if it is cutting a wonky line. First I’d better apologise to Patricia (patricia-summerhousecraft) for my attempt at a bag, I think I’ll have to come to Scotland for some lessons. I didn’t have any double sided card (duh – could have printed some) so I stuck 2 sheets of single sided together – lol. I did have some real fun trying to do the bag and no doubt my pal will smile tomorrow when she receives it, she knows I don't usually try anything like this. I forgot to cut the handle so it will be a clutch bag. Sorry if my comments are a bit brief or half/totally missing, I am having trouble with the comments page hiding on me.
Tomorrow I am off to the Sincerely Yours show in Taunton (my next post should be some goodies) so if any pals are there please say hello, I will be the one causing mayhem tripping peeps over with my crutches, lol. I have a list and also some pennies – I will take my card as a just in case but my aim will be to keep to what I take with me. I am going to try to use satnav on my phone for the first time so if you see a wee purple IQ wandering about aimlessly you will know to point it in the right direction (I don’t think the petrol tank is big enough to reach Scotland).
I used Spellbinders Grand Labels 4 to cut the bag and lopped the bottom straight, some memory box/poppystamp window dies and a Magnolia die to decorate. Hope you all have fun for the rest of the crafty weekend.  xx Flora

it is more goth than deco but I do like those dies so I also popped one on the back -

Wonky-decoupage stepper

Hello my crafty pals. Thank you for visiting. You are all looking slimmer today as my new graphics card has removed lbs (or kgs if you prefer) from all of you. I’ve never been able to cut a straight line so I smiled at the idea of cutting something wonky on purpose. I printed this decoupage ages ago and I think it was probably a free download. I hadn’t a clue what I wanted to do with it but just thought I would have a wee play. I made the topper to start with using the Spellbinders wonky squares, then folded an A4 sheet of pearlescent card, then I worked out roughly where to do the cut on each side and then where I wanted the folds, I didn’t actually do any measuring so I think it worked out reasonably well. I ran a bit of lace along the bottom mounted on matching coordination card to the card used for the sides. I popped a few flowers, bead sprays and pearls about and a Memory box die cut which I cut in half after gilding.
I was not sure what order to put things onto my card and felt a bit “all thumbs” when doing this one but still enjoyed it. I will catch up with viewing your blogs soon if I don’t run out of steam. I have so much to learn.

and a sort of top view of it - lol.

Don't forget to have some crafty fun. xx Flora

Many restarts

Well I'm still here, Window8 certainly appears great albeit my graphics card doesn't work so everything is a bit squished so you are all looking a bit chubbier than usual. My scanner which is over 12 years old works, my Epson printer which has lost it's bloom of youth is also working as is the craft robo, My craft studio, Craft Artist, Kaleidoscope etc etc. I have never used Windows 7 or Vista so I cannot compare them but I think I will like it.
I did have to update my Microsoft Office but as I was running with Office 2003 I think that is fine, only had a very quick play but my excel spreadsheets look fine (my list of dies and important things like that) and I managed to print from word and it managed to read a document which had been converted from Office 97 to 2003 so I am a happy bunny. Once we get the graphics card done and I tidy up, I will be back to normal!!! Enjoy your crafting and stay warm. xx Flora

New Windows

Well I've done the jump from Windows XP to Windows8 and everything I use has disappeared - goodness knows what this is going to look like, all my office stuff like Word, Excel etc were from the year 2003 and I believe I heard chuckling in the background as the update was happening. Anyway none of it works any more, oh! drat. I will miss out on comments until I'm back proper so look after yourselves and happy crafting. Now back to the battle. xx Flora

A little Green

Hello my crafty pals. Thank you for your lovely comments, I think I have a dread of not putting enough onto my card, your suggestions were most helpful.  Just in case any of you are feeling a bit peaky I thought I would pop one of these on my blog, along with some get well hugs so help yourselves. Hope you all have a fun crafty day and thank you for visiting.

Gilding Attempt

Hello my crafty pals, having felt a bit guilty about not using my gilding flakes which I have had since the first time around I was surprised to find my Zig pen still worked a treat. Ok this is only a tiny bit of gilding but it is a start and it wasn't as messy as I expected – lol. Not sure which way up this embossing folder should have been but it wasn’t quite the effect I expected. I do like the folder as it gives a flat panel in the centre to place elements on. Hope you all have a fun crafty day and thank you for visiting. This card doesn't feel finished so might still end up being cut up as a topper or just bits.

Glitter Fairy

Hello my crafty pals, I hope you are all well, and crafting mojos present and well behaved. I can say for certain now that die cutters are the best thing since sliced bread (you should see me trying to slice bread lol). You will not be seeing a great deal of hand cut decoupage on my blog unless one of my daughters feels she wants to do some cutting. She did the most difficult layer of Cromford for me but this one is all my own work.
I love this image but it is a bit tricky to cut but that is osteoarthritis/my manky hands for you. I hope the glitter shows up in the photo – if it doesn’t I’ll pop some on the camera lense if there isn’t some already there. That’s me and glitter. Should I feel like a goody two shoes using my CDs? Thank you all for visiting me and leaving comments it makes me happy reading them.

Cromford - thinking of you

Thank you all for visiting my blog and I love reading the comments you have left.  This card was going to be simple; I printed the decoupage in May just prior to our holidays in case I got stuck in, in the rain. Anyway off we went to Scotland and had the most glorious weather especially in Shetland which I had not visited before, so my crafting stuff remained untouched until now.  As I was wandering around blogland I thought – well maybe I could put a bit of shape to this card so here it is. I found 3 little yellow buttons and now I can say I have only one little button left – a purple one so that has to go on the top of my shopping list, lol. I hope you are all having a happy crafty day.

Happy crafter

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments. It is great to have your company. I had a real relax in my crafty den yesterday albeit I also seemed to end up with glue gel everywhere - lol. I also had a leisurely wander around blogland. Lace and all

Good Afternoon my blogging friends, I am completely in slow motion today. We are fogbound here and to be honest we could be anywhere.I think you will all spot a bit of fiddling about here but I was in a bit of a texture mood. Anyway I'll pop it on here before it becomes tomorrow's card.

Shape it

Good Morning my crafty pals , I have really enjoyed my blogging wander this morning and also reading the lovely comments left on my latest post. This was much better than any medicine after a night of trying to wish myself to sleep. Just when is this Indian summer going to arrive.
Well I have no card for you today but a crafty memory for me to store. I sometimes twirl the stems of my flowers and some I cut and yesterday I had a bit of stem from my bead swirl which I twisted round my finger. This is the result, I am not saying I am the first to do this but I did not copy it - I glued the stem flat to the scrap of paper and shaped it when it dried.

Sending crafty hugs to my followers and hope someone finds this useful. I suppose I should really have  been trowing those stems away but you never know what might be useful in our crafty world.  xx Flora

Buttons and Bows

Goodmorning(ish) my crafty pals. Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving lovely messages so I know I have company. Well I’m freshly shorn, of course if I had waited until the end of the month I could have posed as a werewolf (tut tut no forward planning). I am back to playing with layers and pinky shades, all my buttons are wooden and a bit heavy for what I wanted here so I had to make some – of course they wouldn’t survive a wash (hee hee). I must keep an eye open for some when I go to the Sincerely Yours show at Taunton in a couple of weeks. I haven’t even started my shopping list.

Back to my card, I printed some backing and pierced two edges, this is the first time I have tried this piercing as previously I have just done a little piece that a die gives. Well here goes and I always welcome any suggestions as well as comments.

Paper and card - card blank is an 8 inch square,
the die cut paper is from meadow lark 6x6,
the small squares of card is co-ordination.
Dies used – Spellbinders squares and beaded squares,
and Whimsy kite.

I am entering this into :- In the Pink - Buttons and Bows - Challenge #6

Old meets new

Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving lovely messages. It is great to be back playing. As I moved some of my stash from A to B and left to right and back again , out poppet this scrap of work which may have been my attempt at t-bag folding. I took a piece of card I didn’t like and overprinted it as I needed to check if my printer worked in it's new position (I can now reach the ciss to refil it without acrobatics) and then played with my latest bit of stash. Well I have been quite good lately so deserved a treat – lol. It wasn’t the die on my wish list, as that one was out of stock, and I hummd and haaahd but it is definitely my sort of die. I cannot believe that the card candi fits perfectly in the centre. So I’ll pop it on here. Later today  I toddle along for a shearing in case I get mistaken for a dulux dog next time I go out even in a slight breeze. Enjoy your crafty fun and hope you are all keeping well.

Paper and card - card blank is a 19 x 12cm made using overprinted card,
the die cut paper is from annamarie designs 6x6.
Dies used – Poppystamps(Memory Box) Grand Gothic Stained Glass,
Gypsophila flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
and a single card candi.
