Lazy Day

Thank you to all my crafty pals for your lovely comments on my male card, I am just about keeping in front of the ones I need, I do have 2 surviving brothers and also 5 BILs,  plus nephews etc and I am now starting to enjoy doing these male cards - lol, it really was a stash thing.  I am always enjoying the gift that is blogland as I love wandering around your blogs. You can imagine my shock when I went to my blog and it said “blog does not exist” – sorry if you heard my squealing expletive, lol - anyway it said to click on something and enter my phone number as someone had tried to use my blog inappropriately – the bloggy people  phoned me and gave me an unlock code and I was back in business. Phew!
Anyway onto my card and my usual bit of being distracted:-
I have been sorting through my dies and noticed that I did not have many border dies, I cannot use punches at all, as my osteoarthritis has taken away that ability (so glad I am not a horse), so I would love to produce what so many of you do with punches such as the Martha Stewart ones. Anyway I didn't find what I was looking for in the crafty shops, got distracted as we do, and I bought a gorgeous Memory Box die which is a butterfly border so my card attempts to make good use of it. This is a long die and I haven't used the full length of it. Did I mention I like butterflies!

Buttons and Bows

Goodmorning(ish) my crafty pals. Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving lovely messages so I know I have company. Well I’m freshly shorn, of course if I had waited until the end of the month I could have posed as a werewolf (tut tut no forward planning). I am back to playing with layers and pinky shades, all my buttons are wooden and a bit heavy for what I wanted here so I had to make some – of course they wouldn’t survive a wash (hee hee). I must keep an eye open for some when I go to the Sincerely Yours show at Taunton in a couple of weeks. I haven’t even started my shopping list.

Back to my card, I printed some backing and pierced two edges, this is the first time I have tried this piercing as previously I have just done a little piece that a die gives. Well here goes and I always welcome any suggestions as well as comments.

Paper and card - card blank is an 8 inch square,
the die cut paper is from meadow lark 6x6,
the small squares of card is co-ordination.

Pink Hair

Thank you all for your lovely comments and for popping in to visit my blog, I am so pleased. Todays card is fun and will hopefully appeal to my niece, she was born a beautiful redhead and I mean glorious red but is a gentle person, inevitable over the years the hair has taken on many other shades. I have never actually seen it pink but have been told.  This digi image stole my heart as soon as I saw it having a soft spot for anything fey and I can play with it to my hearts content.

New Baby

I thought I'd make a quick reverse to my plan to put a few baby cards into the box. I have a few of these little elephant stamps and they are a real favourite of mine. I planned to make a quick easy card and then complicated it by having a die play - lol. I forget where I got the sentiment stamp but that's just life, if I remember I will add it later..

Couple

At this rate I will be starting my post with "Good Night" , I spent too long today just messing about. I bought this border die a while ago but once I received it I wasn't sure what to use it on. Today I have used it on a plain piece of pearl but it might lend itself to patterned paper also. I think I have only ever made one engagement card before but I had picked up this digi just in case and I hope it works ok.

Fix it

It may be dank outside but I have a nice warm glow from getting lovely comments about my cards and also another crafty pal. My card today may look so simple but it took me ages to work out how not to cover the background lol. I also had a play with my few copics which are lovely to use but like everything else takes practice. That said this was a great image to play with and use lots of different colours. I almost forget that I can use my spellbinders to create frames but I think it was just what I needed here. I made the sentiment on the computer and used the same die cutter to give it the shape.

My Boat

After a bad night and dozing on the settee from 4am I woke to a drizzle day and pottered about with this card and now I am pleased to come on here and read the comments left by my crafty visitors.
Yet another little boy card on here today but my next card will have to be an adult one for a 65 year old male so I shall have to put my thinking cap on.  I was so please to find the twine I had mislaid I was determined to use it so I hope it looks ok. I do wish I didn't mislay stuff lol.

A little bit further

It has been a wee while and no real excuse, well I did misplace a small die and had to tidy my desk looking for it (should have had a whole work team for that job) , anyway I couldn't believe when I found it placed on the middle of the magnetic sheet holding my grand labels.
Patricia kindly told me where she buys her canvas paper so I nipped to that shop which is opposite the supermarket and picked some up. It would have been really rude not to use it so here is my recipe this time round :- I
painted a background on some plain paper
painted a  variety of die cut leaves and placed them loosely over the background
took a photograph
printed the photograph onto the canvas paper

then I started my card. Getting slightly better at photographing acetate, I hope I remember how I did it next time. I even managed to cut the slit in the acetate to slip the wee mouse through without any pain.

One Lazy Cat

I think I could slumber away today myself, it is bucketing down outside. I do need an occasional belated birthday card and I think this could meet the requirement. It is yet again a very favourite and well used stamp and gives me the giggles. The mirror card is actually pink and a good match to the rest of the card but my camera is determined to fib about it. I typed the sentiment.

Walkies

My goodness the thunder rolled on and on this morning. Decided against putting my computer on just in case although I think the lightening was being doused by the heavy rain. My kindle has gone to sleep so I'm charging it up and hoping it will reboot, it is still under guarantee. So it is a good job us crafters don't need technology, especially as I had the forethought (or luck) in printing the paper yesterday. So fun was still had this morning and although I didn't come up with a super photo I am happy with the card. I double stamped this image and layered it and although a bit finicky for me to do I like the result.

Yellow mono fairy

I am so very happy to be receiving comments on my blog. I think I have managed to switch the word verification thingy off so please let me know if I haven't. This is all still very new to me. I am still in fairyland today but as I used a sakura stardust pen there isn't too much glitter about. I don't know why this little fairy slipped to the bottom of the box as she is such a sweetie and I enjoyed colouring her. I have made an attempt at keeping to a single colour choice so hopefully it has worked.

Pink fairy

Where did all this pink paper and card come from? In fact I have to own up, it is never far away and just what you need on an overcast Somerset day. Also never far away is my collection of great fairy stamps. My Celtic roots allow me to enjoy every minute of playing with fey items and with Gaelic songs playing in the background this card was all about having fun. The sentiment says it all again.

Feathers

Been very brave today and got the feather box out, I'm not great with feathers as it reminds me of plucking chickens as a kid which was the most hated chore on the croft. Ok I know our chickens weren't purple but even those give me a bit of a shudder. However I felt that feathers was the stuff to use on this card and so I just had to focus on the 'champagne' colour. It has been a funny week for my cardmaking as Monday and Tuesday I was doing some  hand cut decoupage from the "Big One" cd, and as my hands aren't brilliant it was very hard work. All 3 cards are for family so they won't appear on here.
So as a treat today I am playing with my PBs and they always bring a smile.I added a sentiment from Whimsy which I thought very useful with my selection of chicken stamps.

Simple Tractor

A bit of an overcast day here but an early start for me. I kept this card totally simple in the end having had 2 goes at colouring in the image. Got so close to it the first time and then messed up completely, never mind. Don't know where this year is going to but it is hurtling along at a fair pace. The card - This little fella is such a cutie and reminds me so much of my friends little boy. I have messed up my corner rounder cutting thick acetate so the corners aren't quite what they should be, must get hubby to look at it. Please spy my new die which is chat bubble. I'm really taken with these so you will see more of them. I suppose to be honest I'm just addicted to dies.

Tea Fairy

I cannot believe it is Friday already, where did the week go to. I pottered about yesterday with a bad FM day so didn't get anything done except help a little with dinner. Wednesday was one of these days when I got things wrong like doing my die cut before stamping the image, putting the clear sentiment stamp on the block writing side down and inking it, couldn't get the embossing powder to do what I wanted so decided it probably wasn't a day for a heat gun. I had a great day on Tuesday and managed a 3 hour round trip to help a forum friend. It was a lovely day and also great to have a look round another crafter's den.
So here we are on Friday and I've had fun with this little fairy. Fairies are definitely among my favourite things.

Summer Pink

After encouraging the sunshine to appear yesterday with my "hot" card I thought I would continue the theme today, you never know (doesn't look promising at the moment). This is the last of my 3 new girl stamps and I have gone a bit mad with pink.We really must get some summer encouraged.

So Hot

Had to use a bit of imagination for this card, mixed with a lot of wishful thinking. The stamp is another of my group of 3 girls I got lately so I might use the last one tomorrow. This card was all about having fun and I used 3 colours of embossing powder to do the sand. Still finding glittery embossing powder where it shouldn't have gone but that is me and glitter.

Bling it up!

I cannot believe it is 4 weeks since I made one of my favourite types of card. Life does have a bit of a habit of getting in the way. I also had left my finishing bits of other cards undone so had 40 inserts , bagging etc to sort out. Also had to do exciting things like tidy up enough space to work in. Anyway all that is out of the way so I can relax and enjoy myself. This is a new stamp for me and I really enjoyed using it to make a fun card.

Way before the lark this morning

I don't often get a night's sleep and last night I gave up and mooched around but was too tired to craft so watched some crafting on TV instead. That is what I get for being stressy having left this card undone until the last minute yesterday. I used the brand new house die I received in the morning post and whereas I normally like to play first, but no, this was one cut and get on with it.
