Thank you to all my crafty pals for your
lovely comments on my male card, I am just about keeping in front of the ones I
need, I do have 2 surviving brothers and also 5 BILs, plus nephews etc and I am now starting to
enjoy doing these male cards - lol, it really was a stash thing. I am
always enjoying the gift that is blogland as I love wandering around your
blogs. You can imagine my shock when I went to my blog and it said “blog does
not exist” – sorry if you heard my squealing expletive, lol - anyway it said to
click on something and enter my phone number as someone had tried to use my
blog inappropriately – the bloggy people phoned me and gave me an unlock code and I was
back in business. Phew!
Anyway onto my
card and my usual bit of being distracted:-
I have been
sorting through my dies and noticed that I did not have many border dies, I
cannot use punches at all, as my osteoarthritis has taken away that ability (so
glad I am not a horse), so I would love to produce what so many of you do with
punches such as the Martha Stewart ones. Anyway I didn't find what I was
looking for in the crafty shops, got distracted as we do, and I bought a gorgeous Memory Box die
which is a butterfly border so my card attempts to make good use of it. This is a long die and I haven't used the full length of it. Did I mention I like butterflies!

Hello Flora, nice to see you back again and with such a wonderful card. I do love the pennyblack stamps, the hedgies are so cute, an the butterfly vine is gorgeous. I too love memory box dies and find them easy to use, unlike Spellbeinders.
ReplyDeleteI don't get on either with border punches, I can mever measure them properly, so I don't bother, I prefer to use the dies.
Hope all is well with you, take care Kate x

ReplyDeleteI can't say I heard your bad words when your blog vanished. However, I am a little bit deaf! LOL
I had minor freak out earlier when my list of blogs I follow vanished. Panic stations for me. I resorted to standard practice from when I worked with computers - switch it off and switch it back on again ;-).
Worked this time!
Love this gorgeous card...fab butterflies and love the papers.xxx
ReplyDeleteMorning sweetie....

Hi Flora! I didn't realise I wasn't following you - now rectified :)
ReplyDeleteCoo, went cold here when you wrote about the blog not existing message - so pleased it's sorted out - and top of my 'to-do' list is to back mine up!!
A gorgeous card, that die is so beautiful and as a butterfly lover I now crave it :)) There are so many lovely dies out now which make up for difficulties in punching aren't there.
I think I understand what you mean about making a triple layer card with frames going inwards - is that a bit like 'invertage'? I'm gonna have a little play here and see if I can work out how to do it 'cos I bet it would look really good.
Been reading your blog and you do some lovely work, rising above health issues. Good for you Flora - blogging is a great way to 'meet' others.
Maybe it's time for you to use up some snippets and come to join us in the Playground. The girls are such a friendly bunch and you don't have to go overboard using snippets - even a flower made from leftover paper (or a butterfly - grin) is fine. We don't have any real rules, the girls will hop by to say hello and you could end up with a little prize one week. Plus, they do play very nicely and share their sweeties and even would give you a gentle push on the 'virtual swings' if you like :) Ha, but do watch out for the naughty ones sharing a bottle of wine behind the bike shed!!
If you want to know more sweetie, just drop me an email here di_wray@hotmail.com
Hugs, Di xx
Had a peek around Pixie's Crafty Snippets, really enjoyed what is done with these snippets, as I am on an "I must not buy any more papers" as I am worried my crafty den will proceed downstairs, I am gaining more and more snippets, with the dies I now have I may be saving a cm square. Quite partial to a bit of the grape so I might also end up as a candidate for your other establishment, lol. xx Flora
DeleteLovely cad Flora! Oh dear, I would have gone into a flat panic too. Enjoy your weekend. Judy x
ReplyDeletehi Flora, fabulous card, I love this border, I have used it by cutting the butterflies off the border, I put them on my wedding cake card, so tiny and cute, gave me a shock about blogger, hope mine behaves. pam
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card and I love all Memory Box dies. There is such a big choice in dies now that you can make excellent cards with and not a punch in sight :o)
