Gosh, that was tough

Thank you first of all for your helpful tips on my previous card. I am pleased so many of you liked my celtic border and I can say it was no trouble to cut out.
This morning I have struggled a bit but cannot procrastinate any longer. It had taken me days to start this card. My brother-in-law has a birthday this week but the sad fact is that as a family they have agreed that his wife who suffers from severe alzheimer has to stay in care. He is struggling terribly with this as they have been together such a long time. I could not be upbeat and jolly so this was my best effort.

Card is A5 made from my photography stash
Dies used – sizzix Old Jalopy and
Memory Box Blooming Vine, loopy rings and pine needle.

    1. No Patricia, it will NOT go in the Grand Calibur, I think it may fit in your cuttlebug as it is 15cm x 14cm x 1.5cm. xx Flora

  8. Flora. A very hard thing for your B.I.L to have to decide, but she is in the best place. I think it's a most horrible illness.

  10. Great man card, I'm sure he'll love it.

Really sad about your brother-in-law's wife. I don't suppose it helps to know that someone who has severe Alzheimers is quite happy wherever he/she is, even in a care home, especially if they have got to the stage where they don't know their family. Doesn't make it any easier for the family though as they probably feel bad about it.

  11. Hi Flora,
superb card. Love every detail of it. So fitting for the occasion.
I too am sorry to hear about his wife, such a horrible decision to make, but I'm sure she will be looked after well by people who understand the condition better than we can.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
