Westpoint 2012 adventure

No cards for a few days as I will take a bit of recovery time from my great day out., I will look around my crafty pals blogs and know that I will love your cards but won't leave comments until I am fully recovered.
I set off at 7.50 for my bit of the drive and then I was very happy to hand over the driving reigns to my friend Nettie. It is real joy to go to a show with another crafter who understands the relaxed way we want to approach the "task" in hand. lol  I am also extremely pleased with my crafty haul -
I got  - a die with a number set on it from Britannia dies (Robert Addams), thank you Anne for putting it on my list
Spellbirders grand decorative circles one
Pick and mix Washi tape oooooooo yummy selection
pearl papers - 120gsm that I can print on and also dark 6x6 papers at £2 a pack (I like to buy my dark papers as they use quite a lot of ink and also need to be on slightly thicker paper to stop buckling)
my usual double sided pearl card and a couple of embellishments, and a peg acrylic block.
A photo of my stash excluding the pearly paper/card which wouldn't photo well anyway.
For some reason my wish list is now longer than when I went.

Have fun crafting over the next few days and I will join you all when I am less sleepy.

Twins before digi

Almost got this done in the morning but a delivery got in the way and it wasn't even a crafty one. Thank you all for your lovely comments on my fun card. I've got to admit to having been a bit caught up with my digi bits lately, you can just flip it at the click of a button. So I didn't want my stamps to start sulking so I thought - well I did this before digi and here is how, I stamped my image onto acetate and quickly flipped it over onto the card and pressed hard, then I re-stamped it's identicalish (ok, it's not a word) twin along side him. If I wanted totally identical I would have used a slightly lighter shade of ink for the second but I was happy with it. I didn't have the plural stamp in the sentiment so I got a cocktail stick, took ink from my stamp pad and added the "s", must remember to keep an old pen to do this with. The mirror card made it difficult to photograph.

Bathroom Scene

Hoping all my crafty pals are fine today , I think you have all been busy so mojos must be intact. Yesterday was a day of inserting and packaging  which are not my favourite bits of crafting but I'm getting there, also popping stuff in the post box which I don't mind doing, followed by the worse task of going to the supermarket.  Having survived that my sense of humour returned this morning so it was time for a fun card hopefully bringing a smile.

Giraffe and Teddies

We have had a gloomy day here but brightened by my crafty pals leaving lovely comments on my blog. I should have come for advice on this one shouldn't I? A request (we like those don't we), well he likes giraffes and teddy bears , now I have enough teddy bear stash to run out the door but not much in the Jaff department - one digi image and one lofty stamp. So this took a bit of puzzling and playing.

Pink Hair

Thank you all for your lovely comments and for popping in to visit my blog, I am so pleased. Todays card is fun and will hopefully appeal to my niece, she was born a beautiful redhead and I mean glorious red but is a gentle person, inevitable over the years the hair has taken on many other shades. I have never actually seen it pink but have been told.  This digi image stole my heart as soon as I saw it having a soft spot for anything fey and I can play with it to my hearts content.

Flowers2

Firstly a big welcome to my new crafty pals, I am so pleased you have joined me and hope you enjoy being here. I had such lovely comments and chat with my card for my first sister-in-law that I hope you enjoy looking at this one for sister-in-law two whose birthday falls on the following day. I am still out of my usual cute card but must say I have enjoyed doing these cards also. I have used a die from Memory Box called "Magic Flourish" which I have to admit I was tempted into because it has such a great name. It is a great die and I can see it getting loads of use.

Flowers1

A bit out of my comfort zone today. Not cute, and I have decided that there is to be no more special card/paper box (they have been in there for ages). If it is special enough it needs to be on a card, not in the box. Having said that this purple paper was not easy to cut with the complex Anja die, I'm hoping it was the stretchiness on the paper that made it so difficult so the jury is out on this die. I do love the other dies in the set.
My brother-in-law was so chuffed with his card, declaring he had received a card you wouldn't find in the shops that I think his wife will expect something special next week, so hopefully this card will be good enough. I made up some of the flowers but cannot remember where I bought the Gypsophila ones.
A different set of ingredients today :-
Paper and card - card blank is an A5 made from Centura Pearl,
the backing papers are from my special card/paper box.

Dies used - Marianne anja frames and leaves, Crealies 11 and
Die-namics Fishtail flag stax and Layered Rose,
and ribbon and bling was from stash.

Twins

Thank you for adding comments to my blog. It is great to know that I have visitors and also very encouraging. Been on and off the settee since midnight so I'm a bit grumpy this morning. Last night I was trying to tie a ribbon bow and realised I hadn't done one in weeks. Not sure if starting with a ribbon is the way to begin a card but I wasn't going to waste my effort. Must do some bigger cards as I think that will make it easier. But for the moment I'm putting baby cards in the box and here is another one. I picked up this little stamp set on a sale and it also had a few nice sentiments with it.

New Baby

I thought I'd make a quick reverse to my plan to put a few baby cards into the box. I have a few of these little elephant stamps and they are a real favourite of mine. I planned to make a quick easy card and then complicated it by having a die play - lol. I forget where I got the sentiment stamp but that's just life, if I remember I will add it later..

Couple

At this rate I will be starting my post with "Good Night" , I spent too long today just messing about. I bought this border die a while ago but once I received it I wasn't sure what to use it on. Today I have used it on a plain piece of pearl but it might lend itself to patterned paper also. I think I have only ever made one engagement card before but I had picked up this digi just in case and I hope it works ok.

Nolan (Boy card)

Been a bit sluggish today and as the little grey cells are still playing up I decided I was safer trying to make a card than do anything more demanding. Well I didn't want to make life too easy so I double cut my die cut then persuaded the bits to stay in the cut (yes we all know when you are trying to do the opposite to usual it is no easier) but for a first attempt it wasn't bad. I think next time I will let the bits fall out and just swap them over - if you understand my waffling. As the title gives the game away this is another little boy card. Apologies to my pals who I tempted into shopping but I'm sure you won't regret it - lol. Thank you all very much for your lovely comments.

had a play

You can tell I'm "kicking my heels" today so what better than to play with a new die. It is the die-namics layered rose and I used some substantial weight card and I am very happy with the result for a first attempt. I know I shouldn't be tempting anyone to shop for crafty stuff as if we ever need encouragement - lol.  I placed a small stamen in the middle to build the layers round it and at the end dabbed a bit of ColorBox pigment ink round the edge.

Tug wants to play

So I coloured an image ( a Meljens Designs called Sail Away), well that is easy isn't it, lol, I even used similar colours to yesterday. I got a piece of backing paper I wanted to use and then the brain stopped. Oh well that little tug did just want something to play with so I spent ages cutting up my piece of backing paper. with a pair of hands which refused to receive any instructions. The little tug does look happy but this is no masterpiece but to me is an achievement in my fight against my fibro.I am posting it on here as it is important to me and also hopefully it will encourage other peeps with FM to have a play.

Baby Bo

Trying to chase a headache away here so I have had a little play with a digi image. I must say I'm enjoying using them although I will always love stamping. I think digi images are appealing to my need to store things and I have at least two shelves which are complaining noisily that they are overloaded - lol. I think I have a few boy cards in the box now so I am moving on to baby cards.

Fix it

It may be dank outside but I have a nice warm glow from getting lovely comments about my cards and also another crafty pal. My card today may look so simple but it took me ages to work out how not to cover the background lol. I also had a play with my few copics which are lovely to use but like everything else takes practice. That said this was a great image to play with and use lots of different colours. I almost forget that I can use my spellbinders to create frames but I think it was just what I needed here. I made the sentiment on the computer and used the same die cutter to give it the shape.

Dare to Fly

I don't think I've posted twice before in one day, I wonder if my blog will get confused, I suppose if it does it will be just like me. It is a bit damp here now so in thinking of blue skies I popped together a little boy card although hopefully it will be fine for any age.

Wee Fairy 1

No complaints about this last week weather wise but my only crafting was one family card. A couple of months ago I bought a magazine, my only one this year so far, with the aim of having a good read while in hospital, an event subsequently canceled but will happen one day. Anyway that resulted in my getting a set of free Wee stamps so I played with one this morning. And yes I am to be nudged back to creating my boy cards which I have enjoyed making.

My Boat

After a bad night and dozing on the settee from 4am I woke to a drizzle day and pottered about with this card and now I am pleased to come on here and read the comments left by my crafty visitors.
Yet another little boy card on here today but my next card will have to be an adult one for a 65 year old male so I shall have to put my thinking cap on.  I was so please to find the twine I had mislaid I was determined to use it so I hope it looks ok. I do wish I didn't mislay stuff lol.

Rope Swing

A bit of a day yesterday as the memory slipped out of focus (so frustrating asking myself , did I finish my coffee, where did I put my cup, why did I come into this room etc, etc), so to stop from annoying everyone around I went off to the allotment to talk to the weeds, boy these weeds have grown.
So it will come as no surprise to anyone that I made my first upside down card in a while - (also fondly known as an Australian card) , I have rescued it this morning so now it is a topper sitting on a blue card and with a matched tag.
It is also another little boy card although I enjoyed one of those swings myself a few decades ago. I'm not sure if "Cool" is still in use,
