Dusted it off

Thank you to all my crafty pals for your lovely comments. It has been all stop start, going to do something but the weather has put paid to most of what we had a mind to do. Why should I be surprised, we seem to have had over a year of rain with just the occasional blast of snow and a couple of days of sunshine (global warming indeed).
I swapped my glue for some mortar and did a little repointing and general dogsbody as the boss laid the first row of blocks (but I am told the most difficult) of our new kitchen.  I have now been instructed to design what I want in the kitchen so that the electrics etc can be set so I will remain a bit missing although I am wandering in blogland and enjoying your beautiful creations.
Now the important bit of info amongst all this waffle and thus the title of this post - I dusted off my old craftrobo as Poppystamps have started doing digi file die cuts. I bought 3 of them for 99 cents each and this Calypso Swirl is the first I have cut. I popped it onto a quick Thank You card along with some freebie die cuts I received and a bit of a stamp. It won't stop me using dies and of course buying them, lol. Sending hugs and do take care all and I will pop in to see you all by the by.

Pie Chart Play

Thank you to all my crafty pals for your lovely comments on my champagne shoe, I so enjoy reading your comments and I do try hard to visit you. Evie sent me a Liebster award and I have added a link to her blog along with the link to Sharon’s blog, Sharon awarded me this on an earlier occasion.
My crafty pals are the best, always encouraging and sending kindly thoughts, and chatting by email I was just mentioning my determined effort to reduce my sugar intake and how I had not touched any sweets/chocolate for over a fortnight – and the lightbulb lit brightly – this ties in with my rumbling FM headache which painkillers refused to move. So armed with the strongest dark chocolate from Lidl, instead of painkillers I have successfully chased my headache away, yippee.
My card today is simply a bit of play. I have old stash and sometimes I wonder if I should be using it or not but I find it difficult to get rid of anything so instead I just play. Will I ever learn to do CAS, probably not! - maybe the next card, lol.
This is the most fun die cutter and I think it was meant for play.

Champagne Shoe

Hello to all my crafty pals, had a few quiet days so much so that yesterday I turned round and said I was bored, well that's not me at all even when I have had a grumbling headache for about a fortnight. So to make amends I thought maybe I'm missing playing with pink, this is on the redish side of pink. Thank you to all who enjoyed my card made with my spiky die, I think it may be a while until I find a more interesting one. However I did not want my old dies to sulk so I dug out some of my wooden dies and had a play. I hope the result brings a smile and I will potter around blogland as much as my head will allow.
My card is a DL made with gold embossed card which was in the candy I won
from the lovely Jayne at http://thecraftycavalier.blogspot.co.uk
and I also used some for my die cuts
Dies used : wooden shoe, champagne bottle  and Tophat & Cane.

Bits and Pieces

Thank you to all my crafty pals for your lovely comments on my decoupage, so very pleased you popped in to see me. I do so enjoy reading your comments and also visiting you. Welcome to my new crafty pals, pull up a chair and relax. I have really been enjoying our lovely bit of sunshine and I wanted to make sure I made the best of it just in case, so my wandering into bloglad is a bit amiss.
You will all be impressed that my March budget is still intact even though it has that extra bit in it, as March contains special days.
I do quite often play with my toys and as a result end up with some bits and pieces so I thought to pop them on a card. The cogs mask made such an imprint on my silver paper that I decided to cut around it, then I daubed it with a bit of blue ink, and a card was born.
Paper and card - card blank is a 6 inch square,

a couple of scraps of printed canvas paper,
and the silver paper is from a Range scrap box,

Spring Yesterday

Hello to all my crafty pals and thank you for your lovely comments on my wee bit of crochet. It is strange what I can remember from a couple of decades ago and I cannot remember what I am doing, from the time I go from the bottom to the top of the stairs. Maybe it is an altitude thing telling me I should start looking for a bungalow, lol.  Yesterday was such a beautiful day and today we are back to the grey.
Decoupage is not my forte but I had made this up and I thought it was a shame to waste my cutting. I also used my "contempo border" die. I have had it a while and I hadn't quite worked out what to use it on and it had slipped my mind until I saw one of your cards. Hopefully this card will encourage a bit more of spring, but I might take things a bit easier on our next spring day.

Hooks at twenty paces Pinky

Perhaps not in the same league as "Longswords at 20 paces" or even a bit of sorcery at the said distance, but when a crafty pal urged me to restart my crochet well I had to give it a go. I haven't done any for a very long time and this one is more utilitarian than pretty but Thank You Pinky, (http://pinky-pinkysworld.blogspot.co.uk/).  A big welcome to my newest crafty pal, hope you enjoy being here. Also a big thank you to all my crafty pals for their comments and inspiring work. So without further ado here is my wee bit of crochet. Hope you all have a great weekend, I cannot believe it is already March. Hugs to all.

Lazy Day

Thank you to all my crafty pals for your lovely comments on my male card, I am just about keeping in front of the ones I need, I do have 2 surviving brothers and also 5 BILs,  plus nephews etc and I am now starting to enjoy doing these male cards - lol, it really was a stash thing.  I am always enjoying the gift that is blogland as I love wandering around your blogs. You can imagine my shock when I went to my blog and it said “blog does not exist” – sorry if you heard my squealing expletive, lol - anyway it said to click on something and enter my phone number as someone had tried to use my blog inappropriately – the bloggy people  phoned me and gave me an unlock code and I was back in business. Phew!
Anyway onto my card and my usual bit of being distracted:-
I have been sorting through my dies and noticed that I did not have many border dies, I cannot use punches at all, as my osteoarthritis has taken away that ability (so glad I am not a horse), so I would love to produce what so many of you do with punches such as the Martha Stewart ones. Anyway I didn't find what I was looking for in the crafty shops, got distracted as we do, and I bought a gorgeous Memory Box die which is a butterfly border so my card attempts to make good use of it. This is a long die and I haven't used the full length of it. Did I mention I like butterflies!
