too simple, too bright

Well here we are and boy did it rain so hard yesterday, good in that I managed to relax wandering around blogland. Had a quick trip out with daughter and grandson, loved having him to push instead of waddling on my crutches, the heavens absolutely opened as he was being put in the car.  I enjoyed reading all your comments very much, so pleased with your visits. Absentminded goldfish brain was also in gear so sorry if I missed anyone.
Unfortunately my relaxed demeanor did not convey itself into my cards and I am not happy with either of these hence my title. Pay attention Flora when ordering dies, as this hummingbird, which I have turned into a too bright kingfisher is about 10 times bigger than I expected it to be, duh. Must try him with shrink plastic. Please feel free to add advice or just have a giggle at these attempts, sunglasses might also help for the second one, lol.

  1. Two nice cards with birds, especially the one with the bench and little ones perched on it. I too get caught out sometime by the size of dies and they often smaller or larger than I imagine so you aren't alone in this. Have a good weekend.

  2. Flora these are great. I love both of them.

  3. Good Morning Flora. Your cards are fabulous. I think you are much to hard on yourself. I love both cards. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs Rita xxx

  6. I have done that when buying something online and then it not being the size I thought! But they are still two lovely cards Flora. Love the "splash". We had that rain here too. Christine xx

  7. I know it doesn't help when you don't like something yourself..then you don't like it
but these are too lovely cards Flora, I hate it when I spent money only to find the goods ard not as expected :((
    Hugs Mau xx

  8. Your cards are gorgeous Flora. I love your designs and great use of the those dies.

  10. Hi Flora,
wonderful cards, made with some wonderful dies. Very clever ideas.

  11. Good afternoon Flora,
Nothing wrong with either of your cards, they are both great.
I think we are all too hard on ourselves when we are not 100% happy when we look at our own creations.
    Enjoy your weekend

    Patricia xx

  13. Totally understand what you mean about the size of dies - been there too but seriously I think both cards are beautiful, love the little birds on the bench one. I think you should try shrink plastic, I bet it will look amazing. Thanks so much for your visit and lovely comment. Anne x

  14. I love both of your cards Flora, you can never make things too simple or too bright.
I love the simple layout on your first card and your humming bird is fabulous, I especially like your water splash.
I know what you mean about checking the size of dies though, I have been disappointed on many occasions - usually because they are smaller than expected!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  15. well Flora, they look brilliant cards to me, I have used the bench, so know the size, but the kingfisher is new to me, think you have done a great job.
